AdwCleaner can be used on both 32 bits and 64 bits operating systems.

  1. Download AdwCleaner on the desktop, and quit all unnecessary running programs.
  2. Start AdwCleaner, and follow the procedure below

Start a new Scan by clicking on the “Scan” button from the dashboard.

Wait for it to end (it usually takes from 5 to 10 mns)

After the scan has terminated, AdwCleaner will display a results screen with possible found items.

Verify the detected elements and check or uncheck them for removal.

After you have chosen the items to remove, click on “Clean” button.
The removal starts, wait for it to end. It can take up to 5 mns, depending on how many items are detected and their nature.

After the removal is done, a removal results screen appears. Verify the items selected for removal have been removed without any error. AdwCleaner may ask for a reboot, this is necessary to complete the cleanup.

Should you need a report, you can open it after the removal.
If you missed it, you can retrieve your old scan reports into the “Log manager” menu, under the “Tools” menu.

If you have quarantined an element by error, you can restore it from the “Log manager” menu, under the “Tools” menu.
